How to Get Perfect Accuracy With Airsoft Weapons

There are many ways to improve your airsoft weapon's accuracy. The more improvements you make to both your gun and your technique, the closer to perfect your accuracy is with any airsoft weapon.

1. First: Inspect your weapon

   Make sure that the weapon you are using is not fundamentally flawed. Inspect the barrel to ensure that it is straight and smooth. A gun that has a warped or bent barrel, or that has rough spots inside the barrel cannot shoot accurately. Replace any parts that are visibly damaged.

2. Second: Use the right ammo for your weapon

   One of the leading causes of damage to an airsoft weapon, and weapon inaccuracy, is using the wrong kind of ammunition with your weapon. Using metal BBs with a gun intended for plastic pellets, or using pellets with the wrong diameter absolutely must not occur. It is not safe for you or your airsoft gun, and it can significantly decrease your accuracy.

3. Third: Adjust the hop up

   The hop up is the setting that controls how much pressure is put on the BB as it is released from the gun. If there is not enough pressure behind the ammo when you shoot, the weapon cannot shoot accurately. Increasing the setting on the hop up typically improves the weapon's accuracy

4. Fourth: Adjust the scope and practice

   Sighting in the gun, or adjusting the scope so that it correctly lines up your shot with the target is essential to accuracy. If the scope is too far to the left or right then your shot is not accurate. Also, practice makes perfect. Without practice, no adjustments that you make to your gun can prove effective.

5. Fifth: Add improvements

   There are many add-on aftermarket products designed to improve an airsoft weapon's performance. Talk to the airsoft expert at your local sporting goods store about which improvements can make your airsoft weapon more accurate.
