Airsoft for Beginners

Airsoft guns are a great recreational weapon for people of many age ranges. They are used in military and police training, as well as for recreational battles and target shooting. As a beginner, learning some useful information about the activity assures an enjoyable first time experience.

There are different types of guns for your choosing.

Airsoft guns are available at a cost from 25 to over 2,000 dollars and come in a variety of different forms. There are CO2 gas-powered guns, automatic electric guns (AEGs), and the most common being the spring powered guns also referred to as springers.

Safety gear is imperative.

Safety gear must always be worn during battle or target shooting. There are different kinds of face masks and goggles available for your choosing. Tactical apparel and gear is commonly worn during battle to protect the skin from the sting of the rapidly moving plastic pellets.

There are different types of combat you can participate in.

The most common style of play is called Skirmishing. These battles are held in abandoned buildings, woods or anywhere else that provides space for open play. Close Quarters Battles are usually held at an arena. These arenas are commonly set up as an urban combat zone. Military Simulation, also known as MilSim, combines military role-playing fundamentals with airsoft play. These simulations can last for several days, during which the player can leave the battle only in the event of an injury.

Airsoft is a great hobby for just about anyone who loves the different aspects of combat or target shooting. It is a great alternative to Paintball battles, which are a bit more difficult to clean up after, but are just as fun.
